Yesterday I started waking from Prenzlauer Berg, all the way to Postdamer Platz and when I was crossing the museum island I noticed the Humboldt-Box and I remembered I never went there before so I decided to make a short stop. This temporary construction, created by the Humboldt foundation, serves as an exhibition space and viewing platform for the Berlin Palace - Humboldt Forum reconstruction project.
The exhibition describes the history of the Berlin palace before and after the second world, including the time when it was demolished and replaced by the Palace of the Republic. I remembered the first time I visited Berlin in 2006 and this DDR symbol was being dismantled. As part of the exhibition there is a model of how the area is going to look in 2019 when the project will be completed. Looking forward.
